First draft of the Premise and Timeline! Don’t count spelling or grammar errors against me just yet, haha.

PREMISE:

Peace had fallen over the wizarding community since the death of Lord Voldemort at the hands of Harry Potter. Towns were rebuild, Death Eaters were sentenced, and the world rejoiced in the harmony that seemed to move in those first couple of years. However, not anyone was happy, not everyone was ready to move on after the war. Some had lost loved ones, some had lost themselves, and some wanted revenge for what had happened to them. Voldemort needing to pay became Death Eaters needed to pay, which became Purebloods, and from there it was a never ending circle until one person blamed the entire wizarding world for the precious things that had been taken from him.

The wizarding world became the blame for all his problems, and the anger overcame the person he had been, the regret of not being there for the death of his brother over took his life, and the need for revenge, the need to make someone else feel his pain became who he was. It became his goal in life to purify the human race, to weed out the unnatural wizards and vampires and giants. To do away with anything magical. Poor Muggleborns, who could live completely normal lives if wizards weren’t about to try and train them. If wizards had just left them alone the world would have been different. Better.

A new Dark Lord is reaching his height of power. He’s terrorizing the entire wizarding world, and no one even knows who he is, for who could possibly want revenge upon every living Wizard, be them Purebloods, Halfbloods, or Muggleborns. People are going missing, a curfew has been put in effect, and once more the wizarding community holds its breath and waits. For something, for anything.

At least with Voldemort, there was a face behind the attacks. A person to blame.

The Wizarding World did not know that when their children boarded the train to Hogwarts it would be the dawning of another war in their history that fateful day of September 1, 2017. The children had waved to their parents, shouting and laughing and happy. Happy to return to the school they all loved despite the fact that even after all these years, they still divided themselves by houses. The train ride had been as normal as any other – the students spent most of the time in the company of friends, exchanging holiday events and laughter. The Head Boy and Girl made their rounds, the Prefects patrolled the carts. Nothing on the train ride could foretell what was about to take place.

Professor McGonagall was preparing for her final year at Hogwarts. She would resign after this coming term was over. It had been a long time in coming, something she had meant to do long ago but simply kept putting off for one more year. Teaching the students of Hogwarts was what she had dedicated her life to, and to leave it was to leave behind a piece of herself. Forever strong and brave, however, Minerva knew she would be fine. She would live out the remainder or her years with her younger sister, who had remained, like herself, a spinster. It was unfortunate that they would both love men who could not, and would not, love them back. Someone different, however, had a much more sinister plan for how Minevra McGonagall was going to be spending the last minutes of her life.

The death of Headmistress Minevra Dorthy McGonagall rocked the wizarding world to the core. People were outraged at what had happened. The fact that the murder had taken place inside the walls of Hogwarts made everyone even more angry and frightened. At Hogwarts, where their children slept, and learned, and grew. Where their children were supposed to be safe. Again, the walls of Hogwarts were breached, and this time, the killer went free, and unknown.

TIMELINE!:


September 1st, 2017: Headmistress Minerva McGonagall is found dead in her office, hung. No magical means was used to kill the elderly woman, and she faced no signs of torture at the hands of her murder aside from the actual hanging itself.

September 2st, 2017: Children reboard the Hogwarts Express, returning home to the safety of their parents until the investigation into Minevra’s murder is finished and Hogwarts is deemed safe once more.

September 21st, 2017: Children return to school, the term starting late for the first time. Filius Flitwick is chosen to replace the late Headmistress as the new Headmaster. Cho Chang becomes Head of Ravenclaw, as well as the new Charms teacher, filling the role Filius vacated. Security around the school is fortified by the Ministry, as well as the Professors, and Auror’s and Hitwirzards and stationed at different points on the grounds.

December 14th, 2017: The wizarding world has had little to no disturbances in the last two months. People began to let their guards down again, and things seemed to be moving forward. That is until Diagon Alley is bombed with homemade explosives. No one suspicious is seen before or after the incident. Minister of Magic, Kingsley Shacklebolt, holds several press conferences trying to calm the public while attempting to alert them to the seriousness of the situation they are facing.

Feburary 7th, 2018: Halfblood family on vacation visiting the states goes missing while on their flight back to London. Muggle press covers the story, seemingly knowing more then the wizarding world does when the family comes up dead in an abandoned barn outside of (insert small town).

April 16th, 2018: Curfew is put into effect for any underage wizard. All children under the age of 17 must be inside by sundown. All adults are advised to travel in groups consisting of more then two people and always tell someone where you are going.

July 22th, 2018: Hogsmeade is attacked, muggle explosives and firepower used. Several witches and wizards put in critical condition, three children under the schooling age are murdered, as well as three women and four men.

July 23th, 2018: Curfew is put into effect for all magical creatures. Anyone caught outside during the hours of 11PM and 6AM will be held for questioning, and if found innocent, allowed to return home with the assurance that the Ministry of Magic will be watching.

July 26th, 2018: Diagon Alley entrance to and from Muggle London is sealed, the Leaky Cauldron is closed. All Muggle borns and Halfbloods with ties to the Muggle world are asked to please travel safely from wizarding to muggle towns.

October 16th, 2020: Godric Hallow is burned nearly to the ground. Witches and wizards, of all ages and bloodlines, are burned at the stake, their wands laid under their charred remains, undamaged. Death toll: 54.

October 25th, 2020: The Wizarding World closes itself off from the Muggle world. Wards are placed over cities, most wizarding families go into hiding using the fidelius charm. Fear and uncertainly fall over all magical beings.
Several more disappearances over the course of the years. Death toll reaches 492 by August 1st, 2022. Minister of Magic still insists they are searching for the culprits and that they believe they are sure to find them giving many of the tips they’re receiving.

August 1st, 2022: Ministry of Magic assures parents via the Daily Prophet that Hogwarts is still the safest place for their children, and that the wards protecting Hogwarts have been reinforced since the end of last term. Hogwarts letters are sent out, however for the first time since the opening of Hogwarts, a School for Witchcraft and Wizardry, there will be no Muggleborn first years.

August 9th, 2022: Hufflepuff students (BLANK and BLANK) break curfew and are found dead two nights later in the Muggle Underground.

September 1st, 2022: Owls carrying port keys to the Hogwarts Gates are sent out at ten. Students will arrive according to their year at the Gates of Hogwarts to be admitted into the school for their own safety. The Hogwarts Express will not run, as the entrance from platform 9 and ¾ has been sealed.

Seventh years: Noon.
Sixth years: One.
Fifth Years: Two.
Four years: Three.
Third years: Three thirty.
Second years: Four fifteen.
First years: Five.
